What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device (computer, tablet, smartphone) when you visit it. They allow the website to recognise your device on subsequent visits, remember your preferences and ensure that functions such as cookie-consent management work reliably.
Cookies can be set either by the website itself (first-party cookies) or by third-party services embedded in the site (third-party cookies). On this site, essential first-party cookies are always set. In addition, after your explicit consent, third-party cookies from Google Tag Manager / Google Analytics 4 may be set for reach analytics — see sections 02 and 03 below.
Cookie categories
We distinguish between three categories of cookies according to their purpose:
| Category | Consent | Status on this site |
|---|---|---|
| Necessary | Not required | In use — these cookies are essential for the basic operation of the website (e.g. recording your cookie-consent choice). Without them the site cannot function correctly. |
| Statistics | Required | In use after consent — Google Tag Manager loads Google Analytics 4 for anonymised reach analytics. Cookies are set only after you accept this category in the banner. |
| Marketing | Required | Currently not used. No marketing/tracking pixels are active. |
Should marketing tools be activated in the future, you will be asked for your consent through the cookie banner before any data is collected, and this policy will be updated accordingly.
Cookies currently in use
The following first-party cookies may be set on your device when you visit this website:
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration | Category |
|---|---|---|---|
| cmplz_consented_services | Stores your cookie-consent preferences (which categories you have accepted or rejected) — set by Complianz. | 1 year | Necessary |
| cmplz_policy_id | Tracks the version of the privacy/cookie policy you have consented to — set by Complianz. | 1 year | Necessary |
| complianz_consent_status | Records whether you have completed the consent dialog — set by Complianz. | 1 year | Necessary |
| WordPress session & security | Standard WordPress session and CSRF (cross-site request forgery) cookies. Only set if you log in to the back-end — not relevant for ordinary visitors. | Session | Necessary |
| _ga | Google Analytics 4 — distinguishes unique visitors for reach analytics. Set only after consent to the "Statistics" category. IP address anonymised by default. | 2 years | Statistics |
| _ga_<container-ID> | Google Analytics 4 — persists the GA4 session state for the specific GA4 property. Set only after consent. | 13 months | Statistics |
Manage your consent
On your first visit, a cookie banner appears at the bottom of the page. Through this banner, you can choose to accept, reject or adjust non-essential cookies. The technical management of your consent is handled by the Complianz plugin (Complianz B.V., Netherlands).
You can change or withdraw your consent at any time by clicking the small cookie icon at the bottom of any page on this site, or by deleting the cookies in your browser. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of any processing carried out beforehand.
You can also configure your browser to refuse all cookies or to notify you when a cookie is set. Please note that disabling all cookies may affect the functioning of this and other websites. Instructions for the major browsers:
Google Chrome · Mozilla Firefox · Apple Safari · Microsoft Edge
Retention periods
The retention period of each cookie is shown in the table in section 03. In general:
| Cookie type | Duration | Basis |
|---|---|---|
| Cookie-consent record (Complianz) | 1 year | Obligation to provide proof, Art. 7(1) GDPR |
| WordPress session / security | Session (until the browser closes) | Technical necessity (legitimate interest) |
| Google Analytics 4 cookies (_ga / _ga_<ID>) | _ga: 2 years · _ga_<ID>: 13 months | Reach analytics (consent, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR; EU-US Data Privacy Framework) |
Once a cookie's lifetime expires, it is automatically removed by your browser. You can also delete all cookies manually at any time through your browser settings.
Changes to this Cookie Policy
We reserve the right to amend this Cookie Policy as necessary, in order to keep it in line with current legal requirements or to reflect changes to the services and technologies used on this website. The current version is always available on this page; the date of the last update is shown at the top.
If material changes occur — for example, if analytics or marketing cookies are introduced — you will be informed via the cookie banner before any data is collected, and this policy will be updated accordingly.
For any questions about cookies or data processing, please contact us at ordination@pizzera.at. Further details on the processing of your personal data are available in our Privacy Policy.
